Thanks for reading. I wrote that post 6 months ago based on my first-hand experience and my reflection on an industry in turmoil. Your response, “learn to code” became a right-wing meme a few weeks ago.

Of course if every person in an industry who wasn’t being paid a fair wage took your advice then big tech would also stop paying a fair wage. And your article’s perspective about the risk of so much being consolidated by so few certainly doesn’t hold with the “learn to code” response as fewer and fewer tech companies are also diversifying. But that’s not the point and you don’t care.

I think truth telling matters and that journalism serves a public trust. I’ll stick with that.
